MAYOR MASIELLO APPOINTS DIANE DEVLIN CITY COURT

BUFFALO (1/3/00) - Mayor Anthony M. Masiello today appointed Diane Y. Devlin to City Court Judge. Ms. Devlin's appointment is retroactive to January 1, 2000. Her appointment fills the vacancy following Judge Margaret Anderson's retirement.
"Diane Devlin has distinguished herself since being admitted to the New York State Bar in 1987," stated Mayor Masiello. "She has extensive experience and a keen understanding of the law, which will enable her to move into her new position on the City Court with comprehensive knowledge of legal procedure, as well as relevant city issues. I am confident Diane Devlin will serve the people of Buffalo with fairness and diligence."
Since 1995, Ms. Devlin served as Chief Administrative Law Judge and Director of the city's Bureau of Administrative Adjudication. She has served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Buffalo, private attorney and an Assistant Public Defender in Monroe County.
Ms. Devlin received a Bachelor of Arts-Legal Studies/Criminal Justice degree in 1982 from the University at Buffalo, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She graduated from University at Buffalo Law School in 1986.
