MAJOR 14,000 SQUARE FOOT EXPANSION SOLIDIFIES ISO 9001 CERTIFIED, BUFFALO BASED MANUFACTURING COMPANY
Buffalo, NY-Mayor Anthony M. Masiello and the Buffalo Economic Renaissance Corporation today joined Plesh Industries' President Ron Plesh and its entire workforce of 57 team members and their families to officially celebrate their 14,000 square foot expansion. Located in Buffalo since their inception 31 years ago--and at the Buffalo Free Trade Complex since 1981--Plesh Industries is the leading custom manufacturer of Engineered Class chain for conveyors, draw bench, barge unloader, transfer, apron conveyor, and many other applications.
Plesh Industries initially worked out of a trailer at the Buffalo Free Trade Complex, but due to their rapid growth added 14,000 square feet of office space in their new headquarters. Their plant on the site occupies 130,000 square feet and is situated among a variety of other businesses at the BERC-operated Buffalo Free Trade Complex business incubator. In addition, BERC provided Plesh Industries with general business development assistance and facilitated the expansion. Empire State Development Corporation aided the project through workforce training and the Erie County Industrial Development Agency provided $2.4 million in industrial revenue bond financing.
"Plesh Industries is another manufacturing success story for Buffalo," said Mayor Masiello. "Their expansion signifies that manufacturing is alive and well in Buffalo. It is with great pride that I join the 57 hard-working Plesh team members and their families, along with President Ron Plesh, to celebrate what is truly a proud moment -- the expansion of yet another local manufacturing facility."
Founded to meet the needs of the steel industry for specialized material handling chain, wheels and rollers, Plesh Industries has broadened their focus to custom machined and fabricated metal parts including cylinder liners and sleeves.
Empire State Development Chairman Charles A. Gargano said, "The economic renewal of Western New York that began gaining momentum in 1999 when the region had its best rate of growth in 10 years is now in high gear. The summer of 2000 brought this region new jobs and investment from Southwest Airlines, Adelphia Communications and GM's Powertrain plant. Today, Plesh Industries joins a growing list of companies that have demonstrated their confidence in the hard-working people of Western New York."
"Together, our people have spent the last 31 years building our reputation to achieve world-class recognition in our industry," said Plesh Industries President Ron Plesh. "We are now embarking on the journey to take advantage of this expertise and recognition. Our new facilities and equipment enable us to develop and manufacture the new products and services in international markets, as well as improve our strengths dramatically. We are always looking to share our success and we believe that this expansion allows us to do so more than ever."
